Born in Sydney, Australia, on July 27, 1968, Julian McMahon was the son of former Australian Prime Minister Sir William McMahon. He initially began a career in modeling before transitioning to acting, where he quickly made a name for himself.

McMahon's career spanned decades and continents, leaving an indelible mark on both television and film. He first gained recognition in Australian television dramas like "Home and Away." His move to Hollywood saw him land roles in American daytime soaps and crime dramas such as "Profiler."

He achieved cult status for his role as the enigmatic demon Cole Turner in the supernatural drama "Charmed." However, it was his compelling portrayal of the charming yet deeply flawed plastic surgeon Dr. Christian Troy in the FX series "Nip/Tuck" that brought him widespread critical acclaim, earning him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Television Drama Series.
